A women's strength-training and community studio in San Diego. We teach lifting properly, in small groups, for women of every starting point — beginners who have never touched a barbell and lifters who want to go heavier. No shrink-yourself messaging. No bootcamp shouting. Just real coaching and real community.

Our approach

Strength training and genuine community — for women of every starting point.

Bloom is built on a simple idea: women get stronger fastest when lifting is taught carefully and when the people around them actually know their names. We do both, on purpose, every session.

  • Lifting, taught properly

    Every member starts with coaching on the fundamentals — squat, hinge, press, pull, brace. You learn the why behind each movement, not just the reps. We scale to where you are today and build from there, week over week.

  • Community, not competition

    You train alongside the same small group week after week. People learn your name, notice when you are gone, and cheer for the lift you have been chasing for a month. That belonging is the part most gyms forget to build.

  • No shrink-yourself messaging

    We do not talk about earning your food, fixing your body, or burning off the weekend. We talk about getting stronger, moving with confidence, and what your body can do. The goal is capacity, not punishment.

  • Every starting point welcome

    If you have never lifted, you are exactly who we built this for. If you already train and want sharper coaching and better company, you will find it here too. There is no level you need to reach before you belong.

Programs

Three ways to train with us.

Most members start with Foundations, settle into Strength, and add Private Coaching when they want individual attention. You can begin wherever fits — and change later.

  • Beginner on-ramp

    Foundations

    A guided start for women new to lifting — or coming back after a long time away. Over four weeks you learn the core barbell and dumbbell movements with hands-on coaching, in a small group at the same pace as you.

    Strength

    Our core membership. Small-group strength sessions on a rotating program, coached the whole way through. You move at your level inside the group, progress is tracked, and the schedule flexes around real life.

Private coaching

One-on-one, built entirely around you.

Private coaching is for members who want the program built entirely around them. We use it for returning from injury, training toward a milestone, or simply preferring one-on-one over a group. Every plan starts with a conversation about where you are and where you want to go.

  • A 60-minute assessment and goal-setting session to start
  • A training program written specifically for you
  • One-on-one coached sessions, scheduled around your week
  • Form review and check-ins between sessions
  • The option to add small-group membership at a member rate

I started Bloom because the gyms I trained in never quite felt built for the women in them. I wanted a place where lifting is taught carefully, where beginners are welcomed instead of intimidated, and where people actually know each other. I coach the Foundations groups myself so every new member starts on solid footing.
