A warm, family-owned salon in Clairemont, San Diego. Lan opened these doors years ago with a simple idea — treat every guest the way you'd treat a friend who came to visit. Today her daughters work the chairs right beside her, and many of the faces in them have been coming back since the very beginning.

Our family

Started by Lan. Carried on by her daughters.

Lan came to San Diego with a steady pair of hands and a love for making people feel cared for. She opened Kim Family Nails on this corner of Clairemont and ran it the only way she knew how — slowly, kindly, and like every guest was already part of the family.

These days her two daughters work the chairs right beside her. They grew up sweeping these floors and folding towels after school, and they bring the same warmth Lan always has — just with a few new techniques she's happy to learn from them. Many of our regulars have been coming since the early days; some now bring their own kids in for a first manicure.

No appointment? Come on in.

We've always kept a few chairs open for whoever wanders through the door. Need a quick polish change on your lunch break? A full set before a wedding? Pop in — if there's a wait, we'll pour you a tea and tell you honestly how long it'll be.

And because so many of you keep coming back, we like to say thank you the old-fashioned way — a little card we stamp at the desk.
